Baharat is a spice blend which is mainly used in the Middle Eastern cuisine. It is used in lamb, chicken and beef, as well as in soups, offering a rich and distinctive taste. Bahārāt is the Arabic word for “spices”. Besides the ordinary Baharat spice blend, there are many versions of it depending on the country and the region. Attention must be paid to the quantity used so that your food doesn’t become spicy and bitter.

  • 1 tbsp ground nutmeg Sunspices
  • 1 tbsp ground cardamom Sunspices
  • 1 tbsp allspice Sunspices
  • 2 tbsp coriander Sunspices
  • 4 tbsp cumin Sunspices
  • 4 tbsp hot paprika Sunspices

Ingredients 2

  • 1 tomato, cut in small pieces
  • 2 tbsp parsley, chopped
  • Salt
  • Freshly ground pepper


In a small bowl, we put all the ingredients and we mix very well. We store in a jar in a shady place and we use it in the recipes we want to. It pairs really well with roasted lamb and pork!
