The nuts are most often the most appropriate accompaniment to a drink or a football night. But many times we want something a little bit different, a little tastier, something that goes beyond the ordinary. This recipe combines the nuts with spices, creating a spicier and more interesting flavor that everyone will love! You can adjust the quantities of the spices depending on how spicy you want the nuts to be.

  • 1 cup cashews
  • 1 cup almonds
  • 2 egg whites
  • 2 tsp cumin Sunspices
  • 1 tsp curry Sunspices
  • 1 tsp cayenne pepper Sunspices
  • 40 gr sugar
  • 1 tsp salt

  1.  We preheat the oven to 190C/375F and we line a baking tray with parchment paper. In a bowl we put the cumin, the curry and the cayenne pepper and we mix them.

  2. In another bowl, we whip the egg whites and the salt using a hand mixer or by hand, until they foam up and bubbles are formed. We add the sugar, one tablespoon at a time, without stop whipping. When we have added all the sugar and the egg whites have foamed up, we stop whipping and, with a spoon, we add the spice blend, carefully stirring.

  3. In a large bowl, we put the cashews and the almonds. We add the egg-spices mixture and we stir well until the nuts are fully coated. We place them in the baking tray and we spread them in a single layer. We bake for 20 minutes, stirring them occasionally, until they dry. We let them cool and we serve.
